OK, I set Pro tools m-powered to play my synth at 135bpm. But it plays it double time: twice as fast. I had to change the tempo in pro tools to 67bpm to make it work. Any help on this one would be appreciated. Thanks.

Make SURE your ONLY routing out to one port on the MIDI OUT, otherwise, each time you click on another port it will DOUBLE the tempo. What box are you using for MIDI? If its a MOTU, its a flaw in the MOTU as the MOTU cant differentiate the ports as the midi sync is a GLOBAL message and it NOT getting channeled.

Go to your sync screen and make sure only ONE of those ports is clicked

Also, make sure your synth is set to EXT clock as your synth could be outputting clock info at the same time. Korgs are good at doing that BTW

Thanks Shanabit. I'll give that a try. My setup for midi is just korg triton extreme and m audio 1010lt. I don't have a midi patchbay.

Yeah, just set the Korg to EXTERNAL on the GLobal Midi page and your problem will go away. I have a Korg Triton as well, SAME ISSUE unless I set its clock to EXT

Whats happening is the KORG is sending out midi sync data from the apreggiators. Thats getting combined with the internal tempo in Protools. Youll also want to set the LOCAL CONTROL=OFF on your Triton as well so you dont get a midi feedback loop going.

THis way the Triton will send midi data to Protools and then Protools will send/echo that same data back to the Triton to play its sound engine

:)Thanks a lot. I really appreciate it. I was switching back and forth between internal and external and probably got confused. Also, I don't think I turned off local control on my triton. I will do that. Thanks again.
