Could someone take a stab at explaining the process of copying and moving auto mix to another area? I know it is supposed to be like any other copy or move operation in 2000 but I can't seem to get it to work. Thanks.

I want to apply the same auto mix to other areas of the mix. Or perhaps I moving the song up or down in the time line. Then I would want to move the automix to this new location.

I actually just figure it out. It's kind of an odd operation. To move or copy, while in automix set up just set your In and Out and To Markers like usual, choose your track to move or copy, right click and click copy, then right click again and click enter in the pop up box.

Just adding that without a mouse and VGA I'm pretty sure that you can't move automix data to another track but only to another location on the same track. I don't have mouse/VGA and wish I could do this...for instance, after automixing a guitar track on say track 3, I then decide to add some vocal harmonies and want them to be on tracks 2 and 3 next to the lead vocal which is on track 1...can't do...have to leave guitar on 3 with it's automix...could always bounce it (with automix on) to another track I guess... but still, it's a shame I can't do this without mouse setup.

Was about to undertake an AM move, but realized there's no need for me to do so. I'll explain:

I never start a project at the 0 timeline. Usually begin at 5-minutes in. Do that in case I later wanna add anything in front of my recording (and it eliminates having to insert space subsequently).

OK, so after completing my song and doing an AM, I created the master tracks. When I burned a CD, I noticed that the VS had started the MT recording from 0 (capturing 5 minutes of silence).

So at first blush, I thought I'd have to move the song AND the AM to 0 to avoid recording all the blank space in front of the tune. (AM data is totally separate and apart from song data.)

Then I realized, we could simply move the MT to 0. Duh!

Wanted to pass on this momentary bit of dumbness on my part.

Now you all have no excuse whatsoever for thinking like I did above. ;>)

P.S. If you find that you really do have to move an AM, go to the AM edit screen, right click, and set your in / out and to points as appropriate.
