it died or so it says..damaged..i called roland support..great guys..said to have it replaced..is this something i should attempt myself? or can i use an external HD? thru USB?

Hi Melanzane,just take off the bottom plate on the 1600(just screws)check out the model etc. and order one on the internet.They are usually easy to relace if you have the right one. I don't think you can use an external HDD.cheers,bob
