Abbey Road never stood up for me.
Over time, more songs on their grate than any other album. "Maxwell's Hammer" is just awful, now. Can't stand it. "Oh, Darling" is the same. And same for "Octopus Garden"
The songs that do hold up are Harrison's and Come Together, Because.
So for me it's more like a normal record with some good singles and the rest being filler .... even though it was their best sounding record in some ways.
There is better material on White Album, overall.

Great album. I never liked Octopus' Garden and still don't. I like Oh Darlin' though. The entire second side is a joy to listen to for me.

I agree Jazzooo... except that I like the entire album. I like it more now than I even did when I used to learn songs from it.
No doubt that the White album is a kicker! I could have lived without Revolution No. 9... The other cuts on that second disc (the LP) are all terribly great and I could not have done without them, however! They might have done a 3-sided LP, like Johhny Winter's Second Winter... that album is great too!!

I am not a White Album fan, particularly. Some good songs on there, but ... I don't know. I'm more of a mid-period guy, I think.
I'm pretty sure Moby Grape did a 3-sided record, maybe their second one, the one with Grape Jam on it.
