Hello All!

I'm having trouble with getting more than 8 tracks to PC through the v-fire. The problem is that sometimes when recording to Sonar all of the channels from v-fire RBUS2 become increasingly distorted for a minute or two and then become ok again. This happens randomly every few minutes or so. Channels from v-fire RBUS1 work fine.

The setup is as follows:

- VM7100 with VM-24E
- ART DPS II pre connected to VM S/PDIF in, sync from VM word clock out
- V-Fire
- HP nw8440 (with TI Firewire chipset) on XP SP3 running Sonar 8.5.3

VM channels 1-8 are on one RBUS port (I have tried different ports) and channels 9-12 on the other one (S/PDIF inputs from the ART pre are patched to channels 11 and 12). I have tried using the V-Fire as word clock source as well as the VM but this seems to make no difference. Also swapping the RBUS cabels on V-Fire or VM-24E seems to make no difference. The signals coming to V-Fire RBUS2 will eventually get distorted. Changing the buffer size on V-Fire doesn't help, altough with smaller buffer values the distortion seems to get more frequent but shorter in duration.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

cheers,
J-P

A little progress has been made, I'll post this just in case there is someone else still using ancient hardware. \:\) It seems like its working ok when using 48khz sample rate instead of 44.1khz.
