I've just come into possession of an SI-24 and V-Fire. I can get the inputs to show up in REAPER via R-Bus, but playback(and monitoring) gives me no sound.

The Presonus download site mentions a driver and 'MonitorMixer'. I've successfully installed the driver, get 44.1kHz sync(steady blue light on the V-Fire), but no sound is directed back to the SI-24. Is 'MonitorMixer' some sort of virtual patchbay? If so, where is it stashed? I'm missing something simple here...

Mac Pro Quad Core, OS 10.5.8 5g RAM, hard drive space to burn...

Will post to the REAPER forum as well.

Any insight appreciated.

OK-- this appears to be a driver issue:

On an old G4 iBook running 10.5.8, I get visible input, but no sound-- either playback or input monitoring.

Retrograding the OS to 10.4.11, I get EVERYTHING! Input, monitoring and output via R-Bus and the SI-24. The V-Fire appears in the MIDI side of Audio/MIDI setup as well.

My custom SI-24 REAPER KeyMap works 100%.

Perhaps some creative routing via SoundFlower or Jack will work.

The quest continues.

I have both. But I am using the vfire with two VSR880's. You can use the latest windows firestudio driver with it. Version 1.72 will work fine.

Here are both W8.1 and OSX drivers...

My SI24 works with an RPC-1.

I'll try that.

IIRC that's been tested already, but will do it again. I've moved cross country since then and things are fuzzy in my rememberer.

There was a rewrite of the Core Audio routines between OSX 10.4 and 10.5 which killed V-Fire support.

I've asked Presonus to release the V-Fire and R-Bus source code, but they answer that since the R-Bus part belongs to Roland, they can't release any of it.

My quad-core Mac Pro has PCIe slots which won't take the RPC-1 card(PCI), so the V-Fire is the only option.

Actually, I've been so irritated by this no-recourse "abandonment" that I've sworn off Presonus products in perpetuity...

Thanks for the post.
