came up in the signature of Vanillagrits

interesting photo of Lennon, circa 1968 - still listening to other records. Not sure what guitar that is on the floor. There is a phone nearby. maybe not an office ? Could be somebody's house?

Interesting. They seem to have just eaten a curry. Looks like White Album era. If only we could read the record labels!

That Guild looks a lot like this one, doesn't it?

Could easily be his own place, maybe? Looks like any respectable musician's living room in the 60's-70's to me. \:\)

The guitar is believed to be the Guild Starfire 12 string which currently resides at the Hard Rock in Honolulu.

Interesting..... I can't access their photos on the website, would you have any links to pics of the instrument they have?

The one in that photo (above) isn't clear enough to see the string pairs.

here's a few links:

The guitar as it's displayed at the Hard Rock is missing the pick guard, but the photos of the guitar being presented to John and George show the pick guard intact.

Yes, it would be nice to see more of the guitar in the photo of Lennon. I belong to a Guild collectors forum, and I'm under the impression the guitar has been positively ID'd by people with more knowledge. I think other clues like the master volume on the lower bout, the lack of binding in the f holes, and details that collectors focus on have helped to ID it. I could ask over at the Guild foum if you'd like to know more about it.

Maybe I'll visit the forums over there and follow discussions.
Thanks for the idea.
