I don't like to keep instruments or mics in their cases. I want everything in my studio ready to go at moment's notice. But I am concerned about condensation in condenser mics.

In professional studios, mics are often left in the open air. But I've never been in a studio that had a shower in the mic closet like my home studio does!

Any opinions would be welcome.

I'd find another option for my mics, since it's unlikely that I could easily move the shower.

But the toilet reverberation is what gives me "my" sound and makes me nostalgic for the road.

I think that's the thinking behind porta potties... that you can take your sound with you on the road.

Reminds me...Andy Gump used to give away autographed pictures at the Renaissance Faire.

Hey, Slab...

I use these. I don't drink, but I could see it as a win/win, if that's your angle.

I keep the mics covered with them and while I use the mic, the little drawstring wraps around the mic stand adjustment knob.

Harddriver, odd that you would post that. I used to do exactly that about 30 years ago but forgot all about it.

That's the kind of blanket thingy one would do some hardriv'n on in the old days. I also use the royal purple over the mic trick.

A good storage option is to get an esthetically pleasing chest of drawers that compliments your room and store your mics in that.

Great idea, I'll grab some from the bar next time I'm there!

Lol, Guess I misunderstood the OP's question. If you want your mics to be at the ready literally mounted on the mic stands. Go Crown Royal!
