It's stunning and difficult to believe that Roland left any discussion of how to monitor with headphones on this unit out of the manual....... but skimming through the index, the words monitor and headphones aren't even there - beyond that looking over the sections on setting up for recording and there appears to be no mention of using headphones at all....... stunning! or my eyes are just way too old, which is stunning in and of itself. \:\)

Anyway, wish I could tell you what might be up, but I don't know this particular line of recorders and have no idea what your restrictions or limitations to monitoring might be.

I would expect that at the very least it should be relatively obvious how to monitor your output through headphones, whether recording a mic, line, or playback..... you got me......

Good luck with finding a solution. It should be very basic.

I've got a BR-1180CD which, as far as I know, is fairly similar to the BR-1200, and the headphone output just outputs whatever the machine is playing/receiving at any given time. There is no headphone monitoring to set up.

Is it just when recording something using the line input, as opposed to say one of the mic inputs or the guitar/bass input, that you have the issue?
