Very sad to hear of Franks passing... I don't think there is a Planeteer who wasn't helped by Frank in some way. He was 'Planet Help'. My deepest condolences to you, Pam.

I didn't really "know" Frank, but anyone who has visited this place even casually has certainly seen his always cheerful willingness to help. Sorry to hear of his passing. Rest in peace Frank.

I just thought anyone reading and responding might want to know this:
Although Flat is THE person to save and keep VSP alive (as always, thank you Flatcat), Frank was huge in the initial efforts to keep it afloat.
I'll always be indebted to him for his efforts.

Pam, My deepest condolences to you and your family! I hadn't seen him post in a few days and was thinking about him wondering if he was ok. sigh.......
I will miss him!
I know he has a lot of recordings and archives of his music on the 2480 if you ever need help trying to pull those together and make a anthology of his music I would like to help. I know he loved music and recording it would be a cool thing to do.

pam, frank was great. he affected a lot of people that you may not know about, and who probably do not know you, but indirectly, a lot of those folks wish you well, if only on frank's behalf, myself included.
he would surely want you to carry on, so just remember the good stuff, and allow yourself the time to grieve, as we all do when we lose someone close, but never despair. RIP FG

Most sincere condolences, Pam. Frank has left an indelible mark in so many people's lives, relentlessly helping them do what they/we love best. That is way more to say than about the great majority of people on Planet Earth. Sad day indeed for all of us

Mrs. Griffith, thank you for honouring us with your message. Frank was a veritable presence here on the Planet and we were privileged to have him among us. BEAMS to you and your family as you go through this your saddest times. May you be bolstered in the knowledge that Frank was respected and admired here at the Planet, a place we all take very seriously. Sincere and heartfelt condolences from here.

I knew this was coming, but when is one ever really ready for it?VS Planet has lost a HUGE resource. I still consider myself a newbie. Frank always had a response to my clueless attempts to operate what was my "new" VS-1680. He never, ever, answered my questions in a way that made me feel even more silly than I felt...trying to get a grasp on the VS-1680. Then I found out about all the work he put into the BrownBag guide. Well, I HAD to buy a VS-2480 then!! And Frank helped demystify that machine too. I'm glad I could be of some help to Frank; distributing his guide on VS-Planet. It was my small way of trying to say "Thanks"...for assembling a guide that has helped me and countless other users of the Roland VS-2480. Please accept my condolences Pam. And Frank: Keep on Rockin', you won't be forgotten.

I'm happy about three things, Pam:
That all of us here got to tell Frank directly how much he meant to us based on each of our individual experiences with him.
That he's no longer suffering, but now comfortably commandeering recording operations in a different forum than this one.
And that he always had you near him during the transition... for which we all thank you deeply.
Sincere condolences to you, the family and all his other friends.
/L
P.S. I also support the recommendation made in Frank's honor.
