Flanging.
There are different versions of this, but it seems Geoff Emerick invented it when playing or mixing two 4-track reel tapes on two 4-track machines.

Music Videos. It's possible they may not have been the first, but their videos for Paperback Writer / Rain were issued to all kinds of TV shows, rather than make personal appearances.

I always counted the music segments of Hard Day's Night as early music videos too.
So have you heard any of the remastered CDs?

The boy band.
But unlike today's current incarnations, they played instruments.

They didn't invent feedback but were first to use it purposefully in a recording.
First to print lyrics on an LP jacket.

Drum fills that spanned bar lines--I'm pretty sure that was a Ringo thing, never heard it before him.

Electric 12-string (not invented, but first to use in rock). (Roger McGuinn acknowledges his inspiration from George's Ricky in HDN.)

Was the White Album the 1st rock double album?
Sorry, no.... but it certainly was a great album that spawned a lot of really great songs and memories.
According to Wiki: The first rock double album was Bob Dylan's Blonde on Blonde released on May 16, 1966.[2] It was soon followed by Frank Zappa & the Mothers Of Invention's debut record, "Freak Out!", released on June 27, 1966.[3]
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_album
The White Album was released in 1968.

So many innovations came from the production team trying to give the Beatles what they wanted. It's nice to see Geoff Emerick mentioned and of course George Martin was a great producer, arranger and musician.
It was George Martin who talked McCartney into doing "Yesterday" with acoustic guitar and strings. Paul was doubtful-they were a rock band!
I always love this story: (from Wiki)
In 1967, Emerick engineered "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!", one of the most musically complex songs on Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
Lennon told Martin he wanted to re-create the "carnival atmosphere" of the Pablo Fanque circus poster that inspired the song. For the middle eight bars, Emerick spliced together multiple recordings of fairground organs and calliope in an attempt to create the effect;
after a great deal of unsuccessful experimentation, Martin instructed Emerick to chop the tape into pieces with scissors, throw them up in the air, and re-assemble them at random.

I remember watching that. Wasn't it on the Smothers Brothers?
