Hello Planeteers!
I have a VS-2480 with a V-Fire and an ADAT thingy.
I struggled with various interfaces to get things working on my PC...twas a friggin nightmare. Hate computers.
Anyway, i'd like a pc audio interface that is easy to set up with my gear, the aim being to usevthe PC as a effects loop and to send audio from the VS into a pc plugin and then back out into the VS via AUX return. Thus expanding my array of plugins to include anything on PC.
1) Is this possible without noticeable latency? If not, forget it. It should be because it is possible via the analog outs & ins on the VS using an outboard effects processor, such as my TC Electronic G-Force for example. On that i can even do it via the digital in/outs.
2) The fastest pc port seems to be Thunderbolt. So im thinking the best way would be to have a Thunderbolt interface with ADAT, and have 4 outs + 4 ins running one one ADAT cable via the Roland ADAT box. That should be pretty much latency free.
3) My preference goes towards Presonus Studio One and under no circumstances will use Pro Tools again. Am open to suggestions.

Thank you for your precious help!
All the best,

You might be able to use your V-Fire after all if your main problem is incompatibility with newer OS's. There is a video on YouTube of a person using Terminal in Mac OS X El Capitan (I think) to disable something or other in combination with using PreSonus Lightpipe to get his computer to recognize the V-Fire. This is on a Mac but it might work in Windows.
I've used Terminal to make my copy of Handbrake a region free ripper. It doesn't look look much harder than that, although to be precise this was done in High Sierra when it was the current OS.
