hello from France everyone.
I had to go from xp(32) to win10(64) and I installed the universal control 5884 driver for the V-Fire .. the R-bus and the 16 tracks work well for the exchange with Reaper on a PC .. but I cannot synchronize the s / pdif or coaxial to connect my external converter there. the sound passes but with parasites ..
if someone could help me it would be great .. thank you very much.

Wish I had a solution for you, but I can maybe lend some moral support - I just finished installing reaper on a win10 laptop today and got it to work with my scarlett interface where no other of the three softwares I tried would work without glitching... I hold out high hopes for you getting to the bottom of why your digital connection is buggy!

Tics would indicate to me that there is a digital sync issue. If you are using just two digital devices (say the VS and the computer), the chances are good (in my opinion) that the problem would be in the master/internal slave/external settings.

Only one can be master. If the connection still does not function correctly with the one currently chosen, then it is necessary to try the other instead.

If those settings are set properly, but there are still tics, it still must be an issue that your devices are not obtaining consistent digital sync. If it cannot be solved through settings, then try a different physical cable(s) and make sure that the connections are solid and that the contacts are not corroded. If using rca/coaxial, then be sure that the cable is meant for digital/video at 75-ohm (the yellow one in a premade cable) and not a standard audio cable (red and white and black). If the cable is toslink/optical then make sure the cable seats properly in its jack - these connectors can often be loose fitting, or sometimes it's difficult to tell whether or not it's plugged in all the way without using too much physical force.

Other than that - I don't know what to suggest at this time without more detailed information from you about it.

I can understand that - I haven't heard much good about audio applications and win10 in the same thought.

My own win10 laptop was all messed up this afternoon, when I opened it up and brought it out of sleep (which I do at least 3 days a week). I'd done nothing with it since late yesterday afternoon - today, 20 minutes before a session, first the mouse didn't work (a usb wireless trackball), then the microphone was unrecognized in a zoom online meeting..... After any number of normal troubleshooting strategies, I finally shut it down and started it up again...... It was slow to boot, but eventually everything came back online, including the zoom connection through Reaper.

Who knows why? I'd take 10 off this pc and put win7 on it, if it weren't for the fact that everyone is slowly abandoning support for win7 and ie11.......

Is there a possibility that you can install win7 or xp on this computer as a dual boot configuration to find out if you can get your vfire to work on that machine again? You might have to work out a dual boot option in the end.

Could it have anything to do with 32bit vs 64bit systems?
