Back in the day I had a Bang & Olufsen turntable going into the “phono” input on a Harman Kardon receiver/amp. It sounded okay, but I was happy to leave that behind when CD’s came along. But I married into a BIG collection of vinyl. The turntable and receiver have gone, but the LPs have followed us over the years. Now I’d like to explore those works and see what’s worth digitizing and saving.
I don’t have any audiophile aspirations. Just need a reasonably priced modern turntable with the phono preamp built in. Any suggestions?

I have similar aspirations (if I ever finish transferring all the video tapes!) and my feelings are to investigate usb turntables - https://www.google.com/search?source=hp&...f=1584632355002

There's a slew of them out there - many with longstanding trusted names (although that doesn't necessarily translate to high quality these days, does it). I haven't researched much yet, but I eventually will and my first source will no doubt be a google search, followed by a few written reviews, followed by youtube video reviews.... That's proven to be a fairly reliable pre-sale research strategy for me lately - especially given how quickly the list of potentials changes from one year to the next.

I hope this helps - I expect it to for myself, so it better be! \:\)

I'm with you. Hoping someone here has been down this road already.
I'd also prefer analog out rather than only USB.
Good luck.

Audio Technica AT LP 120 is a great turntable with a built in preamp and stereo analog outs. Before buying a receiver, I hooked up bookshelf speakers to it and it was fairly loud, depending on the record. So it should work fine for transferring to digital. It runs about $350. The tone arm has all of the necessary adjustments to ensure proper playback of your LPs, and it's simple to set up (once you watch an online video). There's also a USB option.
