The current state of CakeWalk by BandLab.

Recently I contacted the CTO of CakeWalk, as I really wanted to determine,
for absolute certainty, if there was way possible for me to register my
recently installed legacy version of CakeWalk's Sonar LE. I also expressed my
concern over the uncertainty of not knowing if my laptop would be capable of
running the new, enhanced software system.

I received the following message from the CTO of CakeWalk, which is a fantastic
and informative summary of the current state of the software DAW now simply
referred to as CakeWalk.

Hello,

Cakewalk by BandLab is fully supported. You can find support on our peer to peer
forums at http://discuss.cakewalk.com

Please look at the FAQ there for information on how to directly contact support
regarding Cakewalk by BandLab. The support email is support@cakewalk.com

Please note that Cakewalk is now owned by BandLab and we are unable to support SONAR and legacy products like SONAR LE. However Cakewalk by BandLab is a vastly improved version and should run as well or better on any PC that could run SONAR LE. Cakewalk is a very small installer (a few hundred MB) and should only take a few minutes to install so go ahead and install it. It has all the features of a full blown DAW so its a massive upgrade over SONAR LE.

thanks and best wishes,
Noel

On 17 November 2017, Gibson announced that it was ceasing active development and production of Cakewalk branded products, including all versions of SONAR.
