Over the past few months ASC has had a few reports of missing or 'switched' tracks being exported from a VirDIS HDD file via VS Wave Export. In a previous case this turned out to be an incorrect Project selected by the user.
However, we have had another report today that both the VirDIS HDD file (dropped into VSWE) and the original source project on a 2480 were both GOOD. However, the customer encountered both a missing or corrupted track and a few tracks being swapped or mislabeled when brought into VSWE using this known-good HDD file.
We have not yet determined the direct cause, which could be a actual VSWE bug or some altered interaction between VSWE and the Windows OS, caused perhaps by a new .NET or other update. It is only in the recent few months that we have started receiving these reports, so a Windows/DOTNET update seems like a potential candidate as a cause.
[The author of VSWE no longer supports this utility.]
We will keep this list posted with the status on this VSWE
issue and possible solutions/workarounds for it.
