I've tried everything.

Does somebody have the CD to update my 1600 machine to the latest version.

Version 2.2 I think.

I'll pay.

Last ditch attempt to rescue the 1600 which has been so good to me for many years

Ignore the instructions for burning the update as an image. It doesn't work. Instead follow this:

To create the BR-1600CD Update CD, extract the downloaded BR1600CD_V220.zip and burn the "br1600.prg" file to the root directory of an IS0 9660 (Level 2, mode 1) formatted CD-R.

Once I did it as above, it worked perfectly.

Did you ever get your BR1600 updated? If not I’d be willing to send you an update CD at no cost at all. I cut one a few months ago and updated my machine successfully. I can burn a copy of it easily.
