Hi.

Ive been wanting a VSR880 for a while so I could record tracks and then mix each recorded track with an analog mixer. Ive been slowly trying to understand how it works.

Ive set it to EZroutiong Rack recorder mode, which I believe sets the direct out option to ON. Is there a way to see the levels of the incoming signal when recording(red), then see the levels of the recorded track when playing back(green)? Right now I can play back the recorded tracks, but only see levels on the L & R meters.

Im trying to set it so it behaves as similar as possible to an 8 track tape recorder.

Thanks,
Kein

If you're using like an 8 track tape recorder, I'm not sure why you would want to monitor inputs simultaneously with outputs? I mean you aren't going to be recording and mixing at the same time right?

Generally I will record all the tracks with Direct Out set to "off", then when ready for mixdown, set Direct out to "on" and send those tracks to my 8-channel mixer to mix down to one stereo track.
