**reposted from the 2480 forum**

Hi All,

I've moved on to a DAW, so I'm selling at least one of my 2480s now, and the other later (or maybe now - see below); as well as some HD caddies. The one I'm selling has "the fix", and was previously owned by VS Planet user Steve Walker. It has been stored in the case for almost 2 years. It worked fine the last time I used it, but I'm selling it as-is because of the time in storage. I really don't want to ship, so if you're near the SF bay area, we can meet somewhere.

Items for sale:

1 VS2480 HD with "the fix", loaded w/ 4 VS8F2 cards. Includes vinyl cover, flat screen monitor, keyboard, mouse.
1 VS2480 hard case (the Roland branded one).
1 CD Rack CD-ROM burner with external HD slot (empty). This is the original rack mount unit offered as an accessory to the 2480.
1 HD caddy, with a new Seagate Barracude drive. It has not been formatted, but is identical to the one I use in my other 2480.
1 SCSI2SD box, with cable. This works great for transferring files via micro SD card to a PC so you can convert them to .wav files. I've used it for this purpose many times, without any failure at all. You can also record directly to it, but I don't know how reliable that would be.
1 "The VS Encyclopedia" book, including the unused instructional DVDs; and 1 "Roland VS Recorder" book.

This is all for sale for $1100, obo.

If you want the other 2480 HD as well (doesn't have "the fix"; includes 4x VS8F2, all peripherals, vinyl cover, and Roland soft case) , you can buy it for an additional $600. I've used it recently and it works great.

Both machines have low usage, and are well maintained with a few light scuffs.

I also have several HD caddies for sale at $100 each, plus shipping. Some have HDs that came with them, but are untested.

Let me know if you're interested.

i tried to sell my vs-1880 about 10 years ago,
for next to nothing...

zero interest from anyone.

i think you may be asking WAY too much for your recorder,
but i do wish you success on selling it.

I don't think anyone is going to give you $1700 for 48 tracks when you can get 256 pristine digital track software DAW for practically nothing. All these VS units depreciated their full value many years ago. I would say, given the current environment, you should be able to fetch $700 for both machines and all the accessories. Probably not worth selling. In 20 years they might be worth more as digital vintage units.

Good to see you brother Gonzo!

working units have recently sold on Reverb in the range of $400 - $1500, depending on condition and accessories. But please, feel free to turn the classifieds into a forum for your poorly developed, unresearched opinions.

If anyone is actually interested in making an offer let me know. As I posted in the 2480 forum, if you're willing to pick up in CA I'll cut you a sweet deal.

Sadly, the demand for these units has diminished, but I wish you luck with your sale.

I ended up selling my 2480DVD with 160g HD, with 3 2-cards and 1 3-card with every available effect included, along with the mouse and 22in monitor for $1,000.
And that was almost 5 years ago. I had to wait a long time to even get that.

Oh, and I threw in 2 5 meter r-bus cables.

Good luck

Imagine trying to sell your car, and every time someone comes by to look at it, some dudes show up and start blabbing about it not being a good deal. I swear this is like an episode of Green Acres.
