Been a long spell since I graced this wonderful forum.

Are there folks out there still using the VS machines ?

Roland makes solid gear for sure.

I Been looking to buy a new interface and I'm shocked that even the mid level convertors can hang with the likes of Aurora 16 and such.

I'm so forever grateful to this site when I first started out on my VS2000.

Hi there,

I'm about to start a new 'bucket list' project with my VS2000cd and have bought a Focusrite Scarlett OctoPre Dynamic and some new microphones.

I've no idea about interfaces and converters as I use the VS without a computer, although I do back up using the usb !

woof.

Hey YYZ,
Yes the VS products are very solid. I just switched to computer software recording about a year ago. I use Focusrite as an interface and it works well. Fairly cheap, under 100 bucks.

I was a little apprehensive on switching because the VS was all I used for recording. I'm very glad that I made the switch. Lots of enhancements made in the digital recording world that makes everything way easier than with the VS machines.

Anywho, good to see you around.

Hey, Liquid. So glad you posted.

Like you I’ve never used a computer for recording. Loved my VS1680, and then later my VS 2000 which I still have and use. Concerned about the learning curve required with going the PC route.

Since it sounds like you’re happy, could you share more of how it actually went for you when you decided to make the switch. Much appreciate your comments on this.
