hi all, I dusted off my old orb 2.2gb scsi 2 external drive that I used for backups years ago.
It's basically brand new only fired up a dozen times when I first got it in 2001,and maybe once or twice in 2012 and 2015.
Yesterday it wouldn't power up, and went to find a multimeter to check the 5v power supply, all was good there.
I left it plugged in for about 40min as I played around with my old vs1880, and then when I checked the unit, to my surprise, it was working, and checked all my old discs etc and worked fine.
Today I fired it up and again, nothing, been waiting over an hour and still nothing,
I'm wondering if these drives have some sort of backup battery inside?
I know the vs has a backup battery, and even after years of not powering up, works flawlessly.
Anyone out there own an orb 2.2gb drive and know anything about them?
