I watched the '85 Superbowl when the bears won their 1st and only SB game at a local greasy spoon. They brought in a 25" TV. Me and a couple of my friends sat there drinking coffee and watched the whole thing. It was great. The place was dead. Everyone was at home watching it.

Philadelphia fans LOVED McMahon! As a fan, he was everything you wanted in a football player.... ..... almost.
Ultimately, he didn't have the arm to be a truly great quarterback. To bad. Because we all LOVED watching him compete. He had a winner attitude. He was a winner.

What words would that be? Hurts did NOT have some great day as a QB, no matter WHAT your fantasy stats say.
That said, that isn't on him, it's on the coaching staff. Jalen played just fine and I enjoy watching him play.
I like Hurts and am glad he's an Eagle. I am rooting hard for him.
But that's the thing, I can like him and root hard for him, and still understand what he truly is as a QB.
I can want him to be better, to improve his areas of weakness, to become a QB who can lead the Eagles to the promise land of the NFL. Tell me, just what is so wrong about that? Why is being a blind homer better than that? Why do you think YOU'RE so special, so right, and that I'm so wrong? In fact, can you even point out where anything I have said about him as a QB is incorrect?
Let me answer: NO Because you can't be objective...and a large part of the reason is because you either don't watch him play or don't understand what you're watching. It seems to be a combination of both.

You see, Al....we are very different, no doubt.
While you accuse me of being a hater, I'm not. I don't dislike you, al ALL. In spite of your flaws, I'm glad that you're here at VSP...you certainly bring more to the table than I do, and many/most others, for that matter.
In fact, I've been thinking about you and your love for the Eagles. I've been thinking about offering you to go to a game. I have access to season tickets and usually go to a game or two each year...and the tickets are free to me.
The thing is, for the highly desirable games, being that there's only two tickets, the person who owns them goes to those game too. That is, he doesn't want to give up BOTH tickets, of course.
Also, I don't love the seats. They're in the end zone, and from the 50 yard line on out, I find myself watching the jumbotron instead of the field.
Still, it IS an electric atmosphere and lots of fun...although at this stage of life, on a frigid winter night, I'd just as soon watch at home.
I also don't know whether or not you would be able to get to The Linc. Frankly, you're 2+ hours away and I'd rather not drive 4 hours round trip twice in one day to get you there and back.
I don't know if you've ever gone to an Eagles game at the Linc or the Vet. The Linc is SO much better, though the Vet had it's charms too, in a brutal, football kinda way.
You, on the other hand are mad, and hateful, simply because you've exposed yourself in this thread. I only recognized your lack of understanding about a certain player and that you're only focused on empty fantasy stats. If you hadn't been so hyperbolic in your description of his play, which you obviously didn't even see, I probably wouldn't have noticed....or at least said anything. Instead, you tried to come off as an expert, the know it all, when obviously, you have no clue about what you're talking about. Chicago owe McMahan for their 1 Superbowl win, that's for sure. I think if he had a little more height, he wouldnt rely so much on the running plays. He probably had a hard time seeing beyond the line of scrimmage much of the time.

Interesting point, though I always thought it was more because of his passing ability, or relative lack of (not saying he was bad, just not an elite passer). He was one tough sun of a gun! Maybe too tough. I loved watching him play.
These days there are plenty of QBs that height and shorter. It has to do with angles and lanes, IMHO.
In any case, sad to hear about JMcM's health.
