I'm trying to convert these Impulse responses into 24bit 96khz format so they load into a strymon iridium pedal.

Im told this can be done in Reaper.

I know I need to import the IR files onto tracks in a new project, then render them as mono files having set the render bit rate and khz at 24/96. How do I do that is my problem.

In the render window menu I see the 24 bit option but nothing thta looks like 'khz'. How do I change the 'Khz'??

Does reaper call Khz something else? Block size maybe ?? or something else?

I cannot see any option for 'Khz ' in reaper. I know it must be there but I think it's called by another name...but what?

I can get these Ir's loaded in rverb in reaper but I need them in my strymin iridium pedal which only supports IR's at 24bit 96khz (whatever khz is??)

Ive asked in forums elsewhere but so far nobody can tell me what reaper calls 'khz' \:\(

Thank you \:\)

44100 - 44.1KHz
Change it to 96000 Hz (= 96KHz)

Make sure to select:
Source (selected track - or is it Media item?)
Sample Rate (96000)
Format (WAV)

That's here, under Preferences. It will render all tracks to what it is set to (AFAIK), not a selected track. If left blank, it will render to default project settings.

Cool .. thank you \:\)

So … kHz is sampling rate .. simples lol!

I’ll try this .

I’m wondering if the IR might deteriorate if I’m converting at a higher rate than it was recorded at ti start with but let’s see.

They work ok in reaper loaded as a file in reapers reaverb plug in , but I want them in my iridium so I don’t need to fire up reaper each time I pick up a guitar .

Thanks for helping .

Yeah I was right .

I got the files loaded into the iridium but they are really thin and sound bad . Same Irs in reaper sound fine so I’m guess it’s the conversion that affects the sound ,

Sample rate.

Updampling doesn’t change the sound. Now someone who doesn’t know what a sample rate IS doing it in an app like Reaper? All bets are off.

All speakers and mics/positions, real or impulse responsed are only part of the recipe. What made you think this was a great IR to begin with?

Well the guy just sent me a new set of these at 24bit 96hz which loaded just fine without any need to convert anything .

I think they sound harsh and thin with to
Much fizz compared to some Dave Hislop IRs I have which have a 30/70 direct/ ambient mic but I’ll play around with these new ones and see what happens ,

I’ve a feeling I will end up sticking with the Hislop files after but it was worth a try for $30 \:\)

Well those IRs sound terrible in the iridium . There have no ambiance mics and are simply bad . I think the ones he sent are just conversions as they sound awe full.

I just bought a York Audio IR of the YJM cab mic’d with both close and ambient mics , it sounds great .
