Hi,
the Roland VM3100pro internally has a separate board for the R-Bus DB25 connector, attached with a 15pin JST-PH connector to the Effects board.
While bear's R-Bus-Adat-Interface (thanks @bear) is attaching to the DB25 connector, I built an interface board, that exactly replaces the internal R-Bus Board and connects to the effects board with the same 15pin JST connector. So it is a complete replacement. The advantage of this is, that I do not need to invert the signals, as the inverter is located at the R-Bus-DB25-Board.
So, what I want to do now, is to replace the DB25 R-Bus also in a VSR-880 to have a "light pipe-only" connection instead of R-Bus between the VM3100 and the VSR.
Unfortunately it seams, that the R-Bus connector in the VSR-880 is attached in the Main-Board and so it is a little bit harder to integrate there. I do not have a service notes for the VSR-880 and so I do not know the schematics. But at least I could have figured out, which IC is the inverter for the R-Bus... but maybe there is a better way for doing it?
Does anyone have a Service Notes for the VSR-880?
Thanks a lot, Robert
