This is about transferring files to a computer ... uploading ... add or make changes per your creative jones, and downloading then copying them back into the "port" via USB. A collaboration between friends who both have VS2ks. Hope that made sense. I'm all good with that, but I saw something that concerned me. It mentioned that if you have done an auto mix for the project that you would need to transfer that to the new location as well. Sounds simple enough, but not clear at all. To recap: The method for loading the SONGxxxx folder is by (in the Mac world) by dragging it to the PORT folder in the partition shown (via USB and iMac). THAT is how you get it on to the drive. It does not update the existing one, but does add a new project at the end of the list. Here is where the perceived problem is. Earlier the manual mentions something like "only copy and move the following 3 files" etc. That makes dealing with the auto mix file (forgot it's name momentarily, but that's ok). The BIG QUESTION? If I drag that file to my desktop and copy it in hopes of uploading it (along with the SONGxxxx) to send to my friend ... HOW Would he LOAD IT BACK INTO THIS VS2K? 1) by just dragging it into the appropriate icon for the partition? or .. 2) drag it TOO into the PORT folder. I haven't found anything definitive on that other that this will OVERRIGHT the existing file and that's okay and meant to be, where as the SONGxxxx folder does NOT over-write the existing one, but adds a new project at the end of the list. Long ass way of asking the question. How do you feel about the auto mix and how to deal with it. I can see me making a backup that I thought included auto mix, but it actually needs that other file. Think I'll bail as this is a really long winded post and question. I so appreciate the comebacks. -Furry-
