It is possible to synchronize two VSR-880s together, correct? There are examples in the Owner’s Manual, but no example specific to two stand-alone VSR-880s…the manual details synchronizing a VSR-880 with a VS-880EX…shows how to synchronize up to three VSR-880s using a VM system, the VM-24E, and R-BUS connections…but I can’t find anything detailing how to do it using just two VSR-880s with an external analog mixing console. I basically want to synchronize two VSR-880s so they become, like, one 16-track recorder, and the transport controls of the master control the transport of the slave. I’m assuming it is similar to the settings shown for synchronizing a VSR-880 with a VS-880EX.

Probably identical. Try it and see what happens.

It's done with one Midi cable and Midi Time Code
for the Master Unit, and Midi Machine Control for the slaved one.
It's all in the manual.

I do it with a VS880EX and a VS890 as Master,
giving me 12 real time analog tracks to record.
