I'm initially showing everyone our viewing/listening point from what's called the 'Rapid 7 Rafters' seating area, which are actually much higher that the Boston Garden Society Club seats.
I equated them with basically ANY 'nosebleed' section tickets, with the exceptions of being a corporate freebie, complete with EXCELLENT food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, a private bathroom, plenty of walking around round room, gorgeous women that my wife so generously let me hit on for most of the nite (and for some SOME reason I was actually interesting & oddly curious to them).
Deb told them, "Don't worry girls, he's basically harmless and just a seriously intoxicating flirt at his age right now. I have NO idea was his 'power' over young women still is at his age. He's NOT a dirty old man, he just seems to that something extra that most women are drawn to for some reason. If you think he's impressive NOW, you should have seen him in his late 20's - early 30's when he was on the road in a rock band."
A beautiful recently married girl named 'Paloma' says to her, "And you trust him around other younger women like us???"
"Married 34 years, and trust him COMPLETELY! I know him inside and out...He's just a huge flirt, and I can that I can live with, WITHOUT any issues."
At THAT point, I planted a HUGE kiss on her. Deb said, "See what I mean...totally devoted!"
Paloma says out LOUD...,"HOLY SH!T, DEB, Michael and I just got married a few months ago, and I don't even get stuff like that...ESPECIALLY in PUBLIC!"
I jumped in and said, "Oh, I forgot to tell you, Mike said it would be alright if I picked you up for just tonight if I treated you gently, with respect and dignity."
Paloma put her hand over her mouth and I could tell it was most likely wide open in shock, since her eyes had also opened massively, as well.
She was sitting, I was standing VERY close in front of her. She finally says, "Honestly, I wasn't expecting THAT, BUT I need to tell you that after what I've seen and heard here tonight from you and Deb, that there's anyway in HELL that I'd be able to HANDLE YOU, Falcon.
And that was actually the BEST part of the night. Well, except later on the drive home when Deb told me, "You are STILL such an incredible FLIRT!"
Not upset or angry, she just mention it since after all this time I guess she finds it sort of amazing that younger girls will stand right there and listen to me do my 'routine' of somewhat over the top HIGHLY flattering compliments to each of them.
Now the photos, and concert story...

Bear in mind, this is an EXTREME telephoto shot with my Cell Phone The above shows the layout of the FOH audio dispersion for both the arrays, and the EIGHT subs sitting on the floor in front of the stage itself.
You'll notice that there's NOTHING that's going to direct the audio towards where we're located in the STU2 corporate booth.
NOTHING.
Couldn't hear him speaking to address the audience
Couldn't hear the band playing quietly
Couldn't hear basically an effing thing outside the worst conglomeration of what sounded like reverb set to the max, a jumbled bunch of some type of music, or something?
AND, of course, the audience below us, applauding when he either spoke, played, or ended a tune.
It was an effing disaster of EPIC PROPORTIONS!!!
I put on a brave face and acted as though I was have a SPECTACLAR time. But, I was actually searching for a VERY large Bowie knife in which to immediately slit my throat.
I WAS able to distinguish when the band played the first four intro notes to SLEDGEHAMMER. Which they did, loud and proud!
Thank GOD, because I KNEW that signaled the end of the first set.
I'd decided that we'd be high-tailing it the phuck outta there half way thru the second set, and Deb jumped out of her skin agreeing with me.
There's really nothing worst than a concert you've built your hopes up upon, that shatters all you expectations by having probably the VERY WORST OVERALL AUDIO due to the actual venues acoustic properties and/or lack of COMPLETE sound engineering setup for their ENTIRE facility.
If we'd been down on the first floor, I'm 100% confident things would have been spectacular in the audio portion of the show. Below is ALSO an EXTREME telephoto shot with my Cell Phone.

I saw the same concert here in Toronto. I had seats two rows up from the floor in the section just away from the stage. It was great sound and a great concert the band was amazing players of course. fun art for the show as well . I have been to arena concerts where the sound is terrible and walked this one however was real fine. Best of all the seats were a gift from a guitar student .

Sorry to hear. I like Peter Gabriel too. $hit like this happens sometimes. I experienced a Stevie Wonder concert there, so loud where we sat.

if your wife REALLY loved you, she'd had bought tix for Steve Hackett instead. lol
edit: still tix left for the show in Boston, October 12.

Hackett plays at the Wilbur Theater in Boston. ticket prices are very cheap.
i think the show in Montreal is the biggest venue of the North American leg: close to 3000 seats. i will be there!

Absolutely HAD TO BE, based on that review. You could hear (imaginatively) that everything was right in the pocket, and the dynamics were outstanding. It was just that you had to sincerely believe what was being offered up in the form of music and vocals as far as we were concerned that far up into the rafters. I wish I'd recorded a small chunk of a tune so you could all hear exactly what we were dealing with. It was like somebody intentionally playing a joke on you in the audio segment, for seeing a legendary group performing live on stage. The worst part was that you couldn't just go tell the projectionist that he needed to fix the EXCEPTIONALLY ATROCIOUS audio portion for the movie you paid to see. . . Falcon
I will probably see the guy at next weeks jam, I'll show him your review.

I hate seeing a once in a lifetime experience being a disappointment for you.
With today's technology and knowledge of acoustics, there is no excuse for bad sound.
I've taken my wife to several concerts at the Sprint Center (Tom Petty, Joe Walsh, Fleetwood Mac) in KC and the sound has been surprisingly good even in the nosebleed section.
