You can let it wash over you, but my favorite parts are the first song, then 8:15 (taxman in 7/4) then at 39 minutes, Footprints at 52 minutes and finally Wipeout at 1:13.00

Ooh, also the song around 16 minutes— it’s an arrangement based on sweet Georgia Brown.
This is what somebody said on Facebook after the gig:
“Doug Robinson, Victor Monterrubio, and Rubén Olvera were so connected yet free. It visually reminded me of a forest full of fireflies, dancing in the moonlit evening to the notes and rhythm. It was a mesmerizing performance!”

Remember that this is just my rough and tumble trio, not the Mo’ Ritmo project that we’re videotaping and doing a live in the studio album the first week of October. It’s Independence Day weekend down here so there were millions of events and we only had about 25 people at this gig but it suited the intimacy of the music I think.

I'm always humbled by your bass players.....This guy really kills it on the little snot string bass as well as the 6 string.
I got about halfway through, sometimes watching other times with it turned up while doing house stuff. When I came back into the room the video was out of sync with the audio.
With the longer hair you look like a founding father....Doug Washington Robinson.

Hahaha I know it’s crazy, but I’m really upset with my hair right now. When I push it back over my ears, it’s kind of stiff and sticks out so I look like mercury or some comic book hero with a little wings coming off the backs of his head. Thanks for listening.

I caught that little reference to "Taxman" by the Beatles at 1:13, perhaps that wasn't intentional. You are saying it's Wipeout.. weird I heard a different thing.
I agree with Grits, the bass player is an excellent player and soloist.
Glad to see you are out and playing, Doug. I'm sure you've been at it for many years, but it's been over 10 years since I even visited here. I haven't kept up.

Chris! What a pleasure to bump into again. Actually, the second song in our set is “Taxman” from beginning to end. Wipeout is the very last song in the set.
I hope you’ll stick around for a bit, Chris. This is still a great place to share creations, and to discuss the process. I love playing with these guys, but I have something really big up my sleeve for the first week of October.

Yes, taxman is at eight minutes and 15 seconds, and Wipeout is at one hour and 13 minutes.

I plan on sticking around. I was absent for many years, that's for sure. I finally retired this March and at 70, it was time.

Very nice soundtrack for my wake-up coffee this morning.
Great playing, no surprises there. I love the variety of tones you’re getting. You just never sound anything but good every time. Maybe in your head you think you’ve had good and not so good nights. I go through that myself.
My sync got off somewhere around the 9:00 area. No matter, I was mostly listening.
Are you using your fancy keyboard amp or is that still broken? Tiny bass alert!

That’s great to hear, Chris. I look forward to getting to know you better.
Thank you, all for the cool comments. Yes, I’ve had nights where I thought I played poorly but the video told a different story. But I also know that I’m going through I’m mostly satisfying phase right now regarding my own playing. I hope it lasts, I’m feeling really great right now about almost everything.

Fancy keyboard amp, Kelly. I’m living with a little bit of distortion, which I only hear when I’m close to it. And as for sink problems, it’s disappointing, but that’s the way this is- it was taken off of a live broadcast on the Internet.
And yes, Ruben does play that little ukulele bass on a couple of tunes. I’d like to help him dial-in the EQ a little bit next time. It’s a little Boomy.

Chris, what an absolute JOY it is to see you around here again!
What an incredible surprise to hear from you, man.
REALLY glad to hear that you're still alive and kickin'!
Remember those tearful threads when we all thought the VS-Planet was going belly-up back in May of 2010 (I think)
