Oh no. I'm stunned. Oh man.... don't know what to say. Less active here in recent years - but a major player here from early on. And an incredibly talented guy. Just incredibly sad to me.

Dan, when I joined here was "the Man with the Cat glasses". He always gave me positive criticism on anything I posted, textually or musically, and I always regarded him as a friend. I would often make comment to his facebook postings and he and I worked on a few collaborations over the years we "E-knew" each other.

Am I remembering correctly that Dan was the person to whom I mailed my song for one of the the VS-Comp CDs back in 2002 or so? There's something very positive in all of this sadness, and that is that this is in a very meaningful sense a real community, and it has endured. I'm sure Dan was pleased by that as well.
