Hi, i have a VS-2480CD converted to SSD & DVD.
I have the ADAT box + V-Fire.

Anyone using these successfully with a recent laptop, somehow?
I want low latency.

Looking to use 8 ins + 8 outs for an effects loop, so i can use the PC plugins as effects on the VS.

For example, my recent laptop has USB-C (Thunderbolt 4) but no Firewire 400. Has anyone managed to run a V-Fire on a non-Firewire laptop?

Thank you 🙏🏻

Happy 2024!

I have three V-Fire's (daisy chained) hooked up to an older HP Z-Book 17 laptop (WIN10) with a Startech FireWire Express Card inserted into its Express Card slot.

You could try to find e.g. a Sonnet Thunderbolt 4 PCIe expansion chassis and a PCIe FireWire card.
https://www.sonnettech.com/product/thunderbolt/pcie-card-expansion-systems.html

See the following link how to get the V-Fire to work under Windows:

Good luck!

Thabks.

Unfortunately, my recent laptop has no Express card slot, just USB & Thunderbolt 4 usb c.

Has anyone managed to connect a V-Fire to a laptop via USB / USB C?

Apple used to offer a Thunderbolt-to-FireWire adapter. You might keep an eye open, for one.
