Can anyone tell me exactly the difference between 2.504 and the 2.505 operating system? I own several HD 2480s with 2.504 and would like to know the full and exact differences between both Thank You

If I remember correctly, I believe the last 2480 update was to bring compatibility with installing a DVD drive (If you were switching out the on board CD drive or going through the SCSI port).

For DVD drive 2.504 is enough ... (And the 3-card plugins )
Read somewhere long time ago that OS 2.505 had some minor
adjustments to something I don't remember anymore ...
Nothing important, and no need to mess with that "MIDI-only-upgrade" hustle IMO.

Cheers !

version 2.505 added compatibility for a different CD-ROM:
VS-2480 CD-RW DRIVE:
Original part had been no longer supplied, substitute part has just been set as follows:
#04127590: CD-R/RW DRIVE UNIT, UJDA770RL-A
#05019345: OPTICAL DRIVE, UJDA780RL-A
And the following issue was fixed:
There is a case that AUTO PUNCH-IN function might not work correctly
