MScott906 MScott906 Planeteer Registered: 12/16/20 Posts: 35	Not NG, but "Checked fai"... It goes off the right edge of the screen so I am not 100% certain what the exact/full message is... At the bottom of the list of tests in the right had portion of the main self test screen that comes up after you boot into the self test, it states: "NET Check Code: 80000000".... I am guessing perhaps that is indicating which chip or location in one of the chips is failing? The chips that this test looks at are Motorola 24 bit DSP chips, which are going for $15 apiece. The test references 8 of them. I hate to think of replacing them all blindly, this machine is not worth putting that much more into it.. MScott906 MScott906 Planeteer Registered: 12/16/20 Posts: 35	So did a little more digging and found where the DSP check actually shows results for all 8 chips, and no surprise, they all show the error code 111... I am going to recap the Mainboard and see what happens afterward. It seems that based on other posts here that bad caps will cause the DSP tests to fail. Another clue its the caps is that it doesnt see the harddrive on every boot and it also is super slow to boot... _________________________ 2480, 2400CD, MV8000, XV5080, S-550, MC909, Yamaha SY77, Fantom 6S

SOOTY SOOTY Space Cadet Registered: 04/28/21 Posts: 10	This sounds like the failure that happened to my VS2480. I actually bought it like that : ) Anyway recapping the mainboard, and every other board for good measure, resolved the issue.
