The faders on one of my 2480s fail the diagnostic test. I took the unit apart, carefully cleaned the dust and fluff out of the fader themselves and the belts, etc. Did not use any liquids, just a pick and brush. They were dirty, but I have seen worse. All of the sliders move smoothly and freely, no dragging or "gritty" feeling.
I put the unit back together and ran the fader tests again, thinking that they should pass just fine... They still fail.
If the mechanisms are clean and can move freely, what would make them not functional? I am stumped. Its not that the motors are outright dead - I have seen all of the faders moved to position when a project gets loaded...?
