The Olympics used to be big stuff, hardly hear much nowadays, at least I don't. I always enjoyed the Extreme Ironing Competition, not sure if that sport is in the Olympics anymore, not ballsy enough or something.

Watching Simone Biles was great. She's incredible.

I think they've gotten too big. Too many "sports." (I mean, break dancing? Dressage and torturing horses?) And too many athletes --- 10 or 15,000 --- who can keep track?? And too many Chinese doping athletes.

I watch, especially basketball; however, having pros involved has completely changed the sport.

That said, the international competition has gotten great, and international players are now among the best in the NBA, with the last six MVPs going to international players, a trend that looks like it is probably going to continue.

No longer are the USA "Dream Teams" able to steamroll the international teams, and the games are highly competitive and entertaining. In fact, the international rules make the game much better than NBA games, IMO.

I still like watching certain competitions. It's still compelling to me to watch the best of the best go head to head.

I watched the American team dominate the field in the men's 400m relay last night.

I think it's cool that they took the surfing competition to Teahupo’o - one of the world's freak of nature waves. That break, that location is not for pussies.

I am watching, often thinking how the individual competitors have dedicated and trained for this event. I respect that.

Water polo?

So far seeing the US right winger Xtians get in a stir was entertaining.

Watched some so far. I agree use to be a huge event. Now too many categories.

I just want gymnastics and track and field.

I did enjoy the drag queen opener though.

Although the GOP and presumably skywave thought it was Satan driven.

I love the Olympics. Prefer Winter to Summer but both are awesome.

The crowds are huge. The event as a whole is way bigger. The problem with the number of sports is having enough time to view them. We’ve watched every night, trying to catch some new events. The coverage is mind boggling.

In the past NBC would sort of summarize the day’s results with a decidedly American focus, and a focus on the star athletes. Understood. But, we didn’t get to see many of the sports because they had to choose what went on air in primetime. With Peacock you can browse other sports.

This is what makes the Olympics so great. Instead of all the doom and bullshit of the campaign, you get pure sportsmanship and joy.

STOP WITH THIS SHIT. I am not a Christian, which is a precursor to believing in Satan. My opposition to the drag queen ascendancy is not based on religion, but how it increases ad perpetuates sexism and misogyny and violence against women. Indeed, there is something terribly misogynistic about men who hate and mock women implicitly saying, "We are better women than real women." These so-called drag queens are homosexual men who eschew and disrespect women. And they seek to teach the children that women are laughable, that women's bodies are to be mocked and made fun of. Ha ha ha. Let's have more rape, hatred of women and violence against women.

What a big man that you jump on and spread lies about me, but are silent about the Taliban Boko Haram and the other terrorist who throw gay people off of buildings, who stone and behead women for stepping outside of their misogynistic cultural norms.

The drag queens and male homosexuals have never done anything for women. When they were dying in droves of AIDS/HIV, they were happy to recruit women as their champions and caregivers and fun raisers, but they have never supported women's rights, reproductive freedoms, domestic violence shelters. Like men generally, they are narcissists who care only for themselves and do not care how they perpetuate violence against women.

During the 1930s in Germany/Berlin, there was a lot of sexual degeneracy and misogyny and the elevation of drag queens and gay male "culture", things which correlate with the descent into authoritarianism. Read Jung, Toynbee and other scholars of fascism and the authoritarism.
