I have been down on the music things for the past months, with declining business, fewer gigs, my advancing age, and more great musicians here.
Tonight I had a turnaround that felt really good. I attended a jam party session at a musician's home with lots of good players.
At the end, The (monster) bass player walked over to me and said, " I know a pro when I hear one." This guy was Patti LaBelle's bass player for years. He told me I should be playing with Stevie Wonder.
Damn, that made me feel good, and changed my attitude for at least a while.
