This one was with the Praise Band who unfortunately have only had one gig this year. But man, it was one for the books. Everybody in that group is a seasoned pro, and we had just one rehearsal prior to the gig (one hour). However, so many things just came about naturally during the gig that we hadn't rehearsed… mostly dynamics.
I believe we have a four camera shoot and multitrack audio, so the drummer/production guy will be delivering a hard drive FULL of data sometime this week (I hope, because he's a busy guy). Then I'll have the fun of mixing and editing a highlights reel.
The next three weekends in a row my duo is working.
Busy. Happy.

And I had my IEM mix dialed in perfectly. For me, a good gig consists of these four things, not necessarily in this order:
1.) The band playing well and not making any obvious mistakes 2.) A good IEM mix (stereo, of course) 3.) My playing going very well 4.) Audience reaction
And of course I make money at it. If I make more than my "usual", then I'm even happier.

Congrats, Mooseboy!
I haven't played out in 24 years and I do not miss carting gear around in the wee hours, having to watch and make sure gear doesn't get stolen, interacting with alcoholics, arguing with short-sighted musicians, and desperately trying to get paid.
The last gig I did was here in Nashville, when a friend invited me up on stage to play with his band. When they asked what song I would like to sing, I said,"Do you guys know "Whipping Post" by the Allman Brothers?"
They all said yeah, they knew it. It went well up until the first chorus, then disaster. They did NOT know the song. Left me out front singing while they all went off in different directions, making ME sound like I was the one who screwed up!
Never ever in my life, before or since, have I felt like such a fool as when I was singing and playing the correct parts while the band behind me descended into chaos. I vowed to never suffer that experience again.
