A midi/DAW jam with previously recorded drum tracks played and laid down by my son.

I like that, Alan! I've told you before how I dig the atmosphere in your music. And that I wouldn't mind going more in that direction in my own music! For me, the main influences in that direction are Pink Floyd and Peter Gabriel.
My ear is delighted by your attention to constantly introducing fresh sounds to keep the mix alive. There's always something happening. It's evolving.

I really enjoyed that. It came across at first like an updated version of "Tomorrow Never Knows".
I love what you do Alan.

Thanks ever so much for your comments. I had never heard that Beatles track before now. Wow - Pretty leftfield for back in the day eh?

Interesting, Alan. I like how you cover the lows, mids and highs, and the stereo field.
Sonically, it is well done.
Very cool!

I love how Alan keeps the mix evolving. Peter Gabriel and middle-Beatles have taught me the value of ear candy to keep the listener focused in. Not just repeating the same music in each verse, with different lyrics. Like, say, Country Music or Blues.
At this ripe old age, I want to hear shifting tonal landscapes. Alan is a master of Moodscapes, to coin a word.
Most of the albums I love contain recordings that reward the devoted listener by revealing new elements each time you listen. After an uncountable number of lifetime listens, I've sucked nearly all the surprises out of the Beatles catalog. But I can still be surprised by new discoveries when listening to early Peter Gabriel, Steely Dan, Genesis right up until ABACAB...

Many thanks to all for the feedback on this one.
"Moodscapes" - I do associate with that approach.
I do invest a lot of time on an intro and then to paint a sonic picture with rhythms and tones augmented by the odd vocal word here and there.
It's where a tune becomes a song It's where a sonic image becomes a sonic movie.
The last 3 projects I have posted are all about me finding my feet with the new DAW software. I'm awfully sorry but I think I'll be posting weekly again like I did a few years ago.
I have a real fire in my mind and belly and just want to share my sonic journeys again. I have never been one for audio 'perfection' but giving more value to simply entering it into the audio journal.
If they ever address the bug with the MPC One+ then all hell could break loose and I'd be a very happy man.
Thanks for all your support peeps! Glad to be with yas!
