I tried running 4 headphones today using some splitters on the two 2480 headphone outputs. I need a good headphone amp. Any suggestions?

Oz Audio makes some pretty good headphone amps. They have four and a six output versions. Worth checking out.

I have owned a Rolls RA60, Behringer 4700 and they work fine. The Oz Audio amp is the one I currently use and this thing is GREAT. Seperate mixes with no problem. Loud and clean.

I have the 6 output Oz and love it. It has a stereo input with 4 insert points for four separate "more me" other than the stereo. It also has "2" effects loop channels. Works for me.

I also have the Q-Mix HM-6 headphone matrix amp from Oz audio. Easy to use, very good audio quality and built like a tank.

I use a Fostex PH-50. Not sure if these are still available new, but its still worth buying a used one. 5 outputs each with its own discreet amplifier and volume control. Overall master volume. Both main stereo in and aux in. The latter also has its own volume control and can be used for talk back etc.
Quality of reproduction is very good. All in a compact half-rack size.

I use two Rolls HA43s for a total of eight headphone circuits each with thier own volume. the HA34s may not be the best sounding, but hey, I mostly use the headphones for tracking. Super high fidelity is not really necessary IMHO. I have a nice set of DT 770s that I will patch directly into the VS if I need to do any critical headphone listening.

I also use the Behr PP Pro HA4700. It's a good unit. Ability to adjust volume, treble, bass at each of the 4 channels. Sells for $99 at:

Does anyone know if the Rane headphone amp is compatible to the VS-2480 and if so where would the connection be?

I am definitely an OZ Audio fan, I have (2) of the HR4's....one of them which has pretty much been as beatup as one product can get and it still keeps on ticking. There really is an advantage to having multiple inputs so that you can send out multiple mixes from the VS. Down the road I will be investing in the AVIOM system.

I checked out the Oz Audio at Musicians Friend's web site. It wasn't very clear on all of the differences between the 4 channel and six channel. There's a $100.00 difference between the 2. I'm definitely leaning towards an Oz Audio amp.
Brad- When you say "send out multiple mixes from the VS", how are you doing this? I've been using the two headphone outs on the 2480 but can't send two seperate mixes. Am I missing something here?

I ordered an OZ Audio Q-Mix (6 channel) today. Can't wait to tinker around with it. It should be here in a few days.

I use a Rolls HA43. Simple, easy, cheap. Works great.

I can tell you what NOT to get - an Art 5 channel amp - noisy and poor quality.
Try running your headphone amp out of the Aux outs. You'll be able to adjust the headphone mix easily and include effects without printing them.
