derrek derrek Planeteer/Artist # 148 Planeteer Registered: 02/15/04 Posts: 1400	I have zero knowledge of computers as far as recording and would like to know what computer software (if any) that I can use to import and export tracks from my VS 2480 to and from the computer? What computer hardware is needed if any? Thanks derrek

You will need the RBus card for interfacing with the PC (it's the best way). Check out Biskopen's site www.rolandvs2480.com _________________________ Let's see ya do that with a mouse!!

axeman axeman Planeteer Registered: 04/01/01 Posts: 3475 Loc: 2480's mother board	acid will work without an r-bus. you can burn acid stereo wave files and load that way. r-bus makes life much easier, cause you can go from the 2480 and to the 2480 via rbus. then you can look at wavelab and sounforge, both mastering programs. plug ins that will be available on the vs8f3 card are already available on software fo a variety of applications, mastering, autotune, verb and much more! the most popular software programs i see on this board might be; acid soundforge sonar wavelab might be? good luck and buy the rpc card if you are going to use your computer! _________________________ axeman

I'm just trying to see what's possible using the two together and what’s needed so I can understand if it’s something I want to do in the future. SlobberMonster SlobberMonster Planeteer Registered: 09/23/00 Posts: 89	I use 4computers with acid, cubase, gigstudio and a bunch of other stuff. i like editing on the computer better than the vs2480 but i like the "sound" of the vs2480 better than stand alone computer stuff so i've got them all synced and use the vs2480 as the control for most stuff. rpc1 card is the best way to go _________________________ So much freaking gear that I can't fit it into my space.

Airy, MD	Since money's a concern for me, I just Track Export my trax onto CD and load them directly in Pro Tools LE (6.1.1) for further mixing and mastering. They go in without a problem and the spacing on overdubbed tracks that are not full are maintained. Thanks to Bisk, btw, for sharing this trick with us!
