Oh man this thing sound great, warm and beautyful.
a few weeks ago i have ordered the Focusrite VM Pro
but for some reason, maybe because i didnt feel i'll need all of the VM features, i changed my mind and got the TL instead.im very glad i made that move.
this thing is just great, lots of output too and its hand crafted in England.
it has a preamp, comp and semi parametric EQ sections
also a noise gate (which usually i dont care for but this one is really nice),each section can be bypassed
just thought to share my great impression of this fine product.by the way, the price should be around
600$ and change.
best regards.

This is a very under-rated box, good sound for the money.

Sure right Brad.
I guess it has to do with their marketing approach.

Good choice, Moshe.

I've been recommending TL Audio gear on the Planet for years. Even started a mini HHB RADIUS / TLA FORUM.

Here's my review of the TL Audio 5051 Ivory 2.

Always liked their gear--used the 5051 in our Midwest studios

I still believe the TLAudio and SPL are bargins for the studio~~~

this one looks great for mastering!! http://www.tlaudio.co.uk/tlaudio/docs/products/5052.htm

Do all my vocals through a TL Indigo voice processor, great valve front end.

Is the use of an A/D converter nessesary with this product if wanting to go direct in to VS2480?

Can you run any of your older tracks through this unit and back into the VS2480 without causing an internal loop?

TIA

I'ts a great looking unit,i thought about getting it but it was a custom order,i would have to wait about a month for it,another thing you may like to know is that the one channel 5051 employs 3 12AX7 tubes (6 stages overall, one for the pre section one for the comp. section and 4 for the eq section) while the two channel 5052 uses the same valve power-also 3 12AX7 tubes but for both channels (3 stages for each).that said im sure it sounds nice.

the 5051 has the option for an A/D converter card
its up to you to decide if you want to bypass the 2480 pre or not.to my ears it sounds wonderful right through the vs pres.
as for looping i guess there are number of methods but if your asking if the 5051 has an internal loop aux section (send/return) then i guess not-you have a ballanced line input though.
best regards.
