I've been on a Police Kick lately. I currently have Outlandos D'Amour, Regatta de Blanc, Synchronicity, Every Breath You Take the singles and their live Double Album in my Car CD player. I've been listening to them over and over.
Not unless they aren't in the studio at the same time :p
I read that Stuart and Sting would purposely schedule time opposite each other for the Synchronicity sessions! Talk about tension: You are recording what is sure to become a gold record, and you can't even be in the same room with your bass player
Copeland does indeed rule! I'll admit I was always a bit put off by his "three-handed" overdubs (Flam + Crash for instance ) , but they do add to the energy and flow of the songs. Tastefully placed...
Andy and Sting are truly masters of their art as well. The Police played a big part in shaping my musical being when I was an influential (but closed-minded) head-banger in Middle School. Oh, how my horizons have expanded.
