I'm not sure if I should post in this thread ......?
But there are lots of really good VST plugins that I have used with Reaper on this site. I hope it's useful to everyone.

Bromanking,
No problem. Thanks for posting that link in here. It's not Reaper specific, but Reaper users can benefit from it as well.

Hi Vice,

I just downloaded Reaper yesterday and still didn't connect it to my VS1680.

The 2nd link on this thread (Randygo's Reaper Plugin) we have a DLL file with lot's of VSs. Are those templates to set VSs with reaper without having to go thru with all you showed on those 3 youtube videos?

And are other templates as well? If so how and where to set it.

Once you set the VS to control Reaper does its accept the 8 input signals at once to record those in separate tracks in Reaper? And if so can we assing different Input VS tracks to different output Reaper tracks like recording VS-IN1 to REAPER-OUT5 and not just VS-IN1 to REAPER-OUT1?

Last question. I installed EZ-Drummer VST. How can I call it on Reaper and work with it as a Multitracker?

Yes. The link above is to the official Reaper download site. That link is always current for the latest version of Reaper.

hey funkybeat...

i seem to be having troubles with the midi stuff (1680 and reaper). i am a bit of a midi noob, but i mostly understand it. the 1680 is connected to the computer via an m-audio 2496, and (AFAIK) everything is enabled as it should be. i get (apparently) no communication between the devices.

can you help me?

as you can see, i have been lurking for some time, lol.

Hi Honda,

Sure, I'll be glad to help, but first I suggest you start a brand new thread for your issue. Let's keep this thread about important downloads for Reaper.

Thanks! Cya in your new thread. ;\)

Thanks for telling me. Yeah, these links go dead every so often. I'll see if I can find it again and update the link.

This thread is quite out of date.

Reaper 5 available now.

Kenny had produced 30 new instructional videos on Reaper 5 that are available free on the Reaper website.

http://www.reaper.fm/videos.php

Enjoy!

Reaper doesn't have "free selection" (free range selection) like most daws where you can highlight and edit a certain portion of a wav or random portions of audio or tracks. You must use "selected area (inside the loop range) of the selected track(s)".

No wonder we have been struggling for months to simply edit a WAV ...way easy in Audacity // SoundForge ////

yep.. I wish Reaper had a erasing paint brush function , such as Sony ACID has...that said, I've been on Reaper for 4 years and like it quite a bit. Very easy to customize.. and lots of support from the forum and videos.. and very affordable. I do still go back and convert my VS 1680 files and dump them to Reaper, much thanks to BEAR, who walked me through that.

I do miss some of the VS machine Roland RSS delays.... those were cool in the extreme... But I've been finding some affordable plugins lately for that...

and the Valhalla reverbs , the Plate and the Vintage Reverb plugins are very good, so I can now live without all the Roland Reverb presets , which I thought were very good.

That seems crazy, considering how long Reaper's been around now and how revolutionary the program and its support for updates and changes was when introduced.

I've never had the time to dig very deep into it, myself.

Hi guys,

Yep, it's me. I know I've been MIA for several years. Just been so busy with other things in life besides recording.

I've been doing some work in my studio lately and using Reaper again. After so many years of not using it, I found myself spending most of my time just trying to re-learn everything I used to know.

With that said, I peeked in here and saw how outdated this thread is. Just letting you know I plan to update all the links and remove all the dead ones very soon.

Peace and be well. \:\)

Unfortunately, for some reason that no one can figure out, I am unable to update the links in this thread. Every time I try, I get the following message. Looks like this thread will be forever outdated. Good luck guys.

Well yeah, it WAS a great plan lol. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen bbs technical difficulties, I couldn't make it happen. The bbs won't let me update the thread. Maybe I should just make a brand new thread? Amazing the ideas one can think of when one is one with thineself. Hahaha!

Thank you flatcat for taking the time to update, edit and fix those outdated links! I tried to do it back in 2017, but the bbs wouldn't let me. GREAT JOB flatcat!!!

Can any of this be worked from a mac/osx or do I need to find a windows machine? Id like to copy over all my audio data to a harddrive.

The procedure will run on a Mac running Windows under BootCamp or VMWare’s VirtualBox. I’ve run it with Win XP and Win 7 and VirtualBox for at least a decade.

Copying your songs to SCSI2SD, then to the Mac-Windows machine preserves your original session material intact.

Hopefully this might help someone. I downloaded the reaper_vs dll from the link provided labelled Randygo's (not the one labelled Bear - for some reason the Bear link opens AVG with a warning so didn't even get to see that page.)
And I tried my best but could not get it to work. It turns out that was because I had the 64bit version of Reaper installed. I installed the 32 bit version of reaper and opened that and it worked straight away!

Thanks for all your help.
