My daughter Hannah in L.A. forwarded this tweet from Garson...heartbreaking:
The fire situation in the Los Angeles area is terrible. My family and I are safe. Unfortunately, my home and studio have burned to the ground and we are devastated. I’ve heard from friends, family & fans and appreciate all of the love pouring in from all corners of the globe.

Sad. My co workers aunt couldn't evacuate for some reason. Fireman found her fine and her house untouched, while others surroundinf her where gone.

A real shame. His playing on Bowie's Outside is some of my favourite piano playing on any album, in any genre. It's theatrical and expansive, but somehow never too much. That little instrumental break in the middle of "Strangers When We Meet" gets me every time.
