I recorded several rough tracks and songs on reaper
What's the best way to import into the 2480
I haven't been using my 2480 for a while and forgot how I did things
I do have two adapters that allow me to transfer to USB rme I have
I forgot what the adapter was called. Someone made it on the forum about 5 to 6 years ago
Worse comes to worse I could import each wa av file track o e at a time
Just trying to remember how I did things.
Thanks for any advice

i'd export the tracks from reaper burn to cd and import them one at a time. rbus you'll have to get the settings right for sync.

I'm curious. Why are transferring files from Reaper to the 2480? There's far more power and flexibility in Reaper. Not that I don't love the 2480.

Just want to use my 2480 set up and be able to mix with faders
My 2480s been sitting awhile and I'm trying to get back into recording
Reaper is nice and a lot faster but I've always thougt the 2480 conversion seems warmer. I may be wrong but will experiment again.

Hi c jo
I'll be working on it today
But if I remember I just used the rbus adapter I bought 6 or so years ago from I believe bear. I use a rme USB fireface 400 to allow me to connect from reaper to rbus in on 2480
Also you posted you needed a scsi drive
I have one that's I believe a song vault but I'm still using it.
Not sure if I can help you recover somehow
PM me and I'll see how I can help

WAILIN ---thanks for the offer ---

My last DVD vault went down --- so I able to find a few other great Planeteers to transfer old DATA files ...Both from 880 DAT files and few disc ...

BEAR actually installed our REAPER --at the West Coast studios ..~!!

Did that interface work ?? Can you transfer multi tracks from REAPER ?? WOW

thanks kindly ;-)

My interface did work But i havent used it for several years . So i am able to set it up again and get it going. The interface is a RME UFX not fireface 400. they have a new model now. Not cheap but Ive been getting good quality sound with that as my interface intpo reaper. I saw a reaper post that has some settings to use that will help me remember my settings. I forgot how I set it up but I only was able to either use the 2480 as master or slave I am not positive which one right now. Im hoping the settings on the reaper forum post will allow me to sync reaper as slave.Once ive had success ill get back to you with the settings etc
I had hoped to do that today but my wife hoit me up to do our taxes which took me all day. Booooo

I haven't used my 2480 for a long while but, I thought there was a wave import function in there somewhere.

It's my understanding that the 2480 faders work with Reaper. I haven't tried it, but it's worth considering looking into. That way you could use the faders and still use the power and flexibility with Reaper... Personally, as I figured out the envelope automation in Reaper I found it far faster than using faders. Having said that, I admit that I miss having my hands on them.

I liked that the 2480 keeps me at the old school speed -- not at the pace of a reel to reel -- but, gives me extra time == to be creative

We only use the REAPER as a two channel mixdown ---

I finally was able to review my set up
I was able to sync reaper with the 2480 and transfer files from reaper using bears rbus / adat adapter
I was only able to sync using the 2480 as master I couldn't get it to work the other way. Om thinking reaper may not be able to use mmc
I had to sync using mtc
Regarding the above posts
You can use 2480 to control reaper
I haven't tried or feel the need to right now
But may visit in the future.
I also will look into someone's comment about using envelope automation. I dont really know what that is yet but always have ame to learn
Another reason I wanted to transfer files to the 2480 is because that's where I have my basic setup
I use reaper as a portable set up so I can do tough tracks upstairs the. Transfer to 2480 and recording downstairs where I have the 2480 hooked up to speakers and everything else.
I still prefer to use the faders and controls on the 2480 as opposed to using a mouse to control things.
Eventually maybe get a controller board to use with reaper.
Right now I cant afford to spend so I'm going with what I have
If cjo or anyone else needs settings I used let me know
Cheers
